and the kitchen sink

i have lots of different things to discuss on here today. we'll cover a little bit of everything.
we are supposed to close on our new home march 24. i am SO ready to be in our new home. above is our bookshelf that i've moved into the living room because we now only have one couch. the kids like having all their books in one place.

we've been buying some things for our new home. i went to an estate sale and bought the trunk in the picture below. that, a day bed, trundle bed, and some painting/pictures for $140. bargain shopper!!!
this is my favorite pillow. i bought it at target and it was more expensive than anything else i bought, but it brings the colors together nicely.

the adoption caseworker came out today to meet us. we are filling out paperwork and waiting for some CPS reports to be finished. there is a slight possibility we will adopt these kiddos before moving!!! hooray!

the last few days have been freezing and if the kids were older, they'd perhaps snuggle better. but currently, the three older kids want to wrestle instead and the baby wants to be independent. so once the younger kids were down for nap, gabe and i snuggled in the bed and watched tv and blogged. isn't he cute?

enjoy these last few weeks of winter!

  1. I love the chest! :) How cold is it there? It's in the 20s here now, but yesterday it was in the single digits, and Tuesday it was -17 most of the day. BRRRR!!!

  2. I love the doggies on the couch and can't wait to see the new house!

PS. pray for us. We have three possible baby situations out there, but they are all a little sticky. Pray, pray, pray.

  3. Yay! I love fabulous finds and expensive cute pillows.
Funny story. I stopped in the middle of HEB last night and said a prayer for you and your family....all because I was buying pine nuts and they were grown in your town and so I thought of you :)
