*these pics are from our thanksgiving holiday with our family. we took walks, had adventures in the woods, and enjoyed our time with them so much. i hope your holiday was wonderful!
now onto the post...
when i walk in our neighborhood, there's this older man who is always outside working in his yard.
his house is on a rather big hill.
and i'm always huffing and puffing to get up to the top, because...um... i'm not exactly physically fit.
and every time i see him, he says,
"don't give up. keep going."
--this random man, who i don't even know, is giving me encouragement. -and it's always with a smile.
i love it.
because i do want to give up.
i look at the progress i want to have made by now and the progress that is actually happening, and i feel discouraged.
but this man, i'll call him george, he urges me to press on.
can i tell you how thankful i am for things like this?
things like encouragement from a stranger when i want to give up?
we all have things we get discouraged about and moments we just want to throw our hands in the air and shout, "i'm through. done. i quit."
--parenting. healthier lifestyle choices. relationships God has called us to that are hard.--
i appreciate this man's willingness to talk to a woman who is huffing, puffing, and sweating.
it made me think about who i could encourage. and how.
so one: i want to encourage you. if you feel like giving up:
don't! keep going!
you can do it.
press on!
and two: let's find a way to encourage those around us, even people we don't know.
a quick affirmation or word of encouragement can mean the world to someone.
